Corporate Valuation

FAS 141R Mark-to-Market

According to SFAS 141r Business Combinations, companies must apply the purchase method of accounting for business combinations, including the mark-to-market of the target’s balance sheet. Part of the purchase method of accounting requires a core deposit study to determine the estimated useful life, amount of the core deposit intangible, and the appropriate method for amortizing the core deposit intangible.

Intangible Valuation and Impairment

SFAS 142 Goodwill and Other Intangible Assets requires a goodwill impairment study at least annually to test for whether impairment is necessary and the level of impairment to be recorded.

Well Positioned and Cost Effective

As a financial institution appraisal expert recognized by the FDIC, Federal Reserve and OTS, FinPro has appraised over $3.0 billion of bank and thrift IPOs.

Stock Valuations

There are numerous reasons for a financial institution to require a valuation of its stock. In today's litigious society, it is prudent for managers and boards of directors to carefully exercise their fiduciary Duty of Care by hiring an expert in the field.

Experience is Key

It is important that the firm you choose is experienced and follows appropriate appraisal standards.
